The Church of the Holy City traces its roots back to the vibrant spiritual landscape of 1960s Washington, D.C. Founded by Bishop Nathaniel and First Lady Queen Dupree, the church was birthed from a divine calling to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In response to the Lord's directive, the Dupree’s extended their ministry to Emporia, Virginia, where the church was officially established in 1968. Since its inception, the Church of the Holy City has been a beacon of hope, nurturing countless souls and empowering them to live a life dedicated to Christ.
A testament to the church's impact is the 1970s album, "Don't Settle Too Cheap." This musical offering inspired listeners to aspire to the heights of their spiritual potential, echoing the biblical exhortation to "press toward the mark for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:14).
The Church of the Holy City continues to be a vibrant community of faith, committed to fulfilling the Great Commission and making a lasting difference in the lives of individuals and communities.
